Change Furnace Filter In Attic

I want to change my furnace filter.

Set the furnace s thermostat to the off position. Btw in east texas all furnaces coils blowers go in the attic. Turn off your furnace before checking or replacing the filter. We don t have basements due to flooding.

Up until this weekend we always had our filters in the intake vents in a hallway ceiling. Went with a furnace with a pull out filter. Excessive dust and debris in the furnace area will be pulled into the vents clogging the filters which can cause the furnace to malfunction. If the furnace turns on while there is not filter in it then it can suck up potentially damaging loose debris. Keep the area around your attic furnace clean. Only the condenser is outside of course.

Hi i have a heat pump in my attic since my ac is working but not blowing cold air but i could not find any filter there so i could clean to get cold air please help. I can t find any filter on my furnace. Thomas boni august 5 2018 at 4 03 pm.
