Rectified tile is fired tile ceramic or porcelain tile that has been mechanically cut or ground down to an exact size.
Ceramic tile cut pressed edge.
To make straight lines place the tile on the tray pulled away from the diamond blade.
If your tile is big a square foot or more then cut 2 inches.
A rectified edge means the edges of the tile have been cut to ensure every tile is the same exact size no calibers.
Now take a marker and mark the tile on the surface in the shape you want to make a cut.
Repeat this process until the edges are no longer sharp.
Just place your tile on a flat firm surface holding the end down with your non dominant hand.
Firmly press the edge of the glass cutter or carbide pencil along the line using a carpenter square as a guide.
It also allows for the pro to install using a very narrow grout line 1 16 or 1 8.
If you are new to using these tools practice on some spare tiles before beginning your project.
Score the profile with the saw then cut in from the edge of the tile to remove as much waste as possible.
You start by marking the cut and scoring the face of the tile on the line.
Push the tile into the blade along the shallow cut you made before for about 1 or 2 inches then back the tile out and turn off the saw.
Since it applies only to the tile s edges it is called an edge treatment.
As an alternative use a grinder with a diamond tile cutter wheel to cut the tile.
Then pass back and forth over the score mark until the tile is cut.
Do not cut entirely through the tile.
The process for cutting semicircles from the edge of tiles is similar to the technique shown for full circles.
Create a pencil line where you want to make the cut then use the grinder to lightly score the line.
Then place the file on the edge about an inch from the tip and push downward in a single smooth stroke.
Use a straight edge to mark the line with an erasable marker.
The simple solution is to use a sanding stone or rubbing stone.
It is recommended to not install pressed edge tile with less than a 1 8 grout line.
If your tile is small 1 inch is enough.
You can also use an abrasive file to begin smoothing the sharp edges of the cut tiles.
Additionally the edges are usually precisely cut at a square.
Now you are going to make the notch.
